Abstract

Creating culturally safe workplaces is essential to the success of Aboriginal employment.
This presentation will explore the value of cultural diversity within Allied Health teams and the key barriers to Aboriginal people choosing and accessing careers in healthcare.
Allied Health managers and a sample of Aboriginal Allied Health professionals from across NSW have been surveyed on the barriers and solutions to increasing Aboriginal representation in Allied Health careers.
These results have inspired the development of the Deadly Allied Health Academy.
Aboriginal Allied Health led initiatives and practical holistic solutions will be presented with the aim of achieving a 3.43% Aboriginal workforce by 2031.
